Alpha Gamma Delta will sell Peppermint Patties to benefit diabetes research and services noon-1 p.m. March 6-9 in the Farinon Center and Marquis Hall.

The chocolates will be sold for 50 cents per bag and can be sent to friends through campus mail. All proceeds will be donated to the Alpha Gamma Delta Foundation, which provides grants for diabetes research as well as education and medical devices.

The event raised $80 for the foundation last year. This year’s fundraiser is being organized by Allison Shapp ’08 (Plainview, N.Y.), philanthropy coordinator for AGD, which also annually hosts the charity fundraisers Eggstravaganza in the spring and Trick or Treat on the Hill in the fall.

“Diabetes was chosen by the international fraternity as a worthy cause to fund,” says chemical engineering major Ashley Jermusyk ’08 (Miller Place, N.Y.), vice president of campus relations for AGD. “Diabetes affects many different people, including more than 20 million in the U.S. alone, and there is still little known about the cause.”

For more information, email Shapp or Jermusyk.
