The Office of Alumni Affairs is accepting applications for the new position of assistant director.
The assistant director will be responsible for helping to build a national program of alumni chapter activities to interest, inform, and involve Lafayette alumni. The assistant director will travel frequently to chapter events and meetings with alumni volunteers. In conjunction with the associate director, the assistant director will identify, recruit, and train volunteer leaders for chapters, and suggest appropriate chapter programming with a focus on young alumni and other special interest groups. The assistant director will be responsible for large-scale chapter events such as the Lafayette/Lehigh telecasts, Volunteer Service Day, and the welcome picnics for new students.
As part of the Alumni Association’s long-range plan, the assistant director will seek to provide diversified alumni programming to reflect the rich diversity of the College. In addition, the assistant director will work closely with the Office of Alumni Affairs team to implement a strategic vision, which includes: developing deeper connections between students and alumni so the Lafayette Experience will last a lifetime; fostering opportunities for alumni involvement, which helps increase alumni participation in giving and in volunteer service; building connections with young alumni; and providing networking opportunities among alumni with similar interests.
Candidates should possess strong interpersonal skills, excellent written and oral communication skills, and the ability to motivate volunteers. A bachelor’s degree is required.
