Shortly after returning from a scuba diving trip in Trinidad and Tobago, Bob Priolo ’77 is already looking for his next adventure.

A civil engineering graduate and associate vice president for facilities and construction at Palm Beach Atlantic University, a Christian university in West Palm Beach, Fla., he will be traveling with his wife of 27 years, Rebecca, to Australia and Papua New Guinea in the coming months to partake in underwater videography.

“My wife and I are enthusiastic scuba divers and she has an interest in underwater still photography as well,” he says. “It’s refreshing and exhilarating at the same time.”

Priolo doesn’t just travel the world to head underwater, however. He has also traveled to Ethiopia, India, and Poland over the last three years on short faith-based mission trips where he speaks to business leaders.

“Many of the missions involve working with professionals on how to bring faith into the workplace,” he says. “It’s something that is very important to me and my family and I am glad to be able to not only share it with others, but also to help them incorporate Christian faith more fully into their own lives.”

Priolo credits Lafayette with strengthening his faith.

“I was able to meet some wonderful people as well as join groups on campus,” he says.

Four years ago, Priolo returned to Lafayette to serve as a guest speaker to engineering students.

He was asked this year to be the chapel speaker at the Career and Calling Week at Palm Beach Atlantic.

Priolo, who earned his MBA at Indiana University and lived in Indianapolis for most of his life, says he will regretfully be leaving Palm Beach Atlantic at the end of this year.

“Sadly, it will be my last year at PBA,” he says. “But, I am looking forward to moving onto new things.”

A longtime engineering consultant before working at Palm Beach Atlantic, Priolo plans on returning to the field. He doesn’t plan on giving up his voyages around the globe, however.

“I’ve always said that Lafayette instilled a sense of adventure and wonder in me while I was there,” he says. “I keep that with me still.”
