Spirit Week 2006 events start Saturday, Nov. 11 and end Saturday, Nov. 18 with the annual football game against archrival Lehigh.

A highlight of the week is the Residence Hall Council (RHC)/Student Government Banner Contest open to students and campus groups. Contact an RHC or student government representative for more information. Students can also support Spirit Week by wearing a free t-shirt courtesy of Student Government. T-shirts will be distributed at all events.

The campus community is also invited to take part in College Theater’s Fringe Ecks-Eye-Vee 8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 13 and Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 15-17 in the Williams Center for the Arts, Black Box Theater. Fringe XIV is a weeklong series of performances that celebrate the arts and the unusual.

“Spirit Week is a great event to bring the entire Lafayette community together,” says Lauren Ibbotson, assistant director of student life programs. “Each year we get new organizations involved in the planning of Spirit Week, and last year, our annual Midnight Breakfast hit record numbers.”

  • Lafayette Football v. Georgetown: 1 p.m. at Fisher Field
  • Spirit Week Kick-Off Picnic: 4:30 p.m. on the Quad
  • Lafayette Women’s Volleyball v. Army: 6 p.m. in Kirby Sports Center

Sunday, Nov. 12

Monday, Nov. 13

  • Bungee Challenge: 4-8 p.m. in Farinon Atrium

Tuesday, Nov. 14

  • Arm Wrestling Tournament: 9 p.m. in Gilbert’s, back room

Wednesday, Nov. 15

  • RHC Window Decorating Contest Winner announced

Thursday, Nov. 16

  • Open Mic Night: 8 p.m. in Farinon Snack Bar

Friday, Nov. 17

  • “SMAC” the Lehigh Car: 4:30 p.m. on the Quad
  • Pep Rally: 5:30 p.m. in Kamine Gym
  • Buses to Lafayette v. Lehigh Hockey Game: immediately following the Pep Rally
