The Concert Band will present its fall concert 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 in the Williams Center for the Arts. The performance, which is sponsored by the music department, is free and open to the public.

James Moyer, associate professor of music and director of bands, will lead the 40-member ensemble through a challenging program of music. The concert will open with “Tradition Triumphant,” a march composed by Moyer for the 75th Anniversary of Knoeblel’s Amusement Resort in Elysburg, Pa.

“Each year, this band grows in size and improves in quality. As a result, we are able to perform more standard works from the band literature,” Moyer says.

Also on the program is “American Folk Rhapsody No. 1” by Clare Grundman, Samuel Barber’s “Commando March,” “Ascentium” by Ed Hickeby, “Incatation and Dance” by James Barnes Chance, and “Festivo” by Vaclev Nelhybel. The concert will close with Robert Jager’s “Third Suite.”

A short reception will follow in the lobby of the Williams Center.
