Crayola has been featured in the cover story of the Money section in today’s USA Today.

The article, “Crayola draws on new ideas,” focuses on a new direction the Easton-based crayon maker is taking, specifically the production of a toy line and the changing of the company name from Binney & Smith to Crayola, which will officially take place Jan. 1.

The new toys are craft-based and 100 percent mess proof. The article and accompanying photo gallery highlight local children using the “no-mess” spin-art machine, mess-proof spray-painter, and harmless cutter during a craft session at the Crayola Factory.

The factory is celebrating its 10 year anniversary this year. A premier Easton tourist attraction, the kid-focused creativity center is part of the Two Rivers Landing Visitors Center, which also includes the National Canal Museum and the National Heritage Corridor Visitors Center. Two Rivers Landing was developed through the cooperation of numerous public and private organizations and has helped bring about a revitalization of Easton’s downtown.
