Reunion 2007 will feature events to satisfy a wide range of ages and interests from June 1-3.

Highlights on Friday morning include a golf outing and three talks for Reunion College: President Dan Weiss, “Teaching Medieval Art in the Modern World: Finding Meaning and Relevance in a Lost Era”; Ilan Peleg, Charles A. Dana Professor of Government and Law, “The Iraq War: A Perfect Failure or a Reasonable Gamble?”; writer and producer Andrea Cohen Malamut ’78, “The Light Comedy of Andrea Cohen Malamut ’78 and her Domestic Import.”

Besides exhibits in College galleries, cultural offerings will include a showcase of Pennsylvania Artists on Tour on Friday afternoon at the Williams Center for the Arts, with performers in music, dance, and theater. Friday night on the Quad will feature a jazz performance by Skip Wilkins, assistant professor of music, and his quintet, which recently released an album that has received favorable reviews.

Friday also will feature an open house at Bourger Varsity Football House in Fisher Field at Fisher Stadium.

Dan Ramus ’82 and other alumni guests will share their volunteer experiences during a Saturday session. Landis Community Outreach Center staff will join in for an exploration of service possibilities. Words will become actions on Sunday morning during the first Reunion community service project.

Other Saturday forums will include “Birth Order & Family Dynamics,” with Susan Averett, Dana Professor and head of economics & business, who has shared this research on The Today Show, and “Beating Swords into Plowshares: The Opening of Lafayette College, 1832,” with Diane Shaw, College archivist.

Traditional Reunion events include the college update by the president, All-College Dinner, parade, family picnic, concert by The Graduates, Saturday night social, and Sunday brunch. Class committees have been busy planning class-specific events as well.

Complimentary services will include a campus shuttle all weekend; babysitting 6 p.m.-midnight Saturday; and coffee, beer, wine, other beverages, and light snacks at Gilbert’s CafĂ© Friday and Saturday.
