The Lafayette community can look forward to warmer weather with the Jimmy Buffett Festival 1 p.m. Sunday, April 22 behind Pardee Hall.

Lafayette Activities Forum (LAF) and Student Government are sponsoring volleyball, bocce ball, and badminton to go along with the sounds of Jimmy Buffett music. There will also be free food and smoothies.

“The Jimmy Buffett Festival is a fantastic way to kick off the summer and to wish the graduating senior class good luck,” says Nick Keller ’09 (Mountainside, N.J.), a member of the LAF executive board and music committee co-chair. “The festival is going to be all about enjoying the outdoors, listening to jam music, and enjoying good food and good friends.”

The festival will feature Jimmy Buffett cover band Parrot Beach as the headline act, and the Nikhil Korula Band, which blends a mix of rock, reggae, funk, and Latin music.

“I don’t think that you could have a better environment than Lafayette for an event like this,” says Keller. “The bands will cater to a wide variety of musical interests, which students will most definitely enjoy. We are hoping that everyone will come out and show their support for the festival.”
