Members of the campus community are collaborating in an effort to collect useful items that are often left behind as students move out of College housing. Furniture, other household items, unopened food, and clothing can be donated to the needy in Easton. Also being accepted are towels, opened laundry detergents, and other cleaning products for the SPCA.

Larger items will be collected at three off-campus dumpster locations. These are across from the Experimental Printmaking Institute, the large parking area beside the President’s House, and in the alley half a block North from this parking area. Donated items can be dropped off in the tarped areas.

For food, clothing, and cleaning products, cardboard boxes have been placed on the porches of senior housing at Monroe and McCartney streets. Dorms should still have the collection boxes that Lafayette Environmental Awareness and Protection placed there a few weeks ago. For more information, contact Katalin Fabian, assistant professor of government and law, at x5392 or email.
