Events include 30th Annual Heritage Day and Easton Farmer’s Market 255th Anniversary

July’s First Weekend in Easton will highlight the city’s history and patriotism with the 30th Annual Heritage Day and the 255th anniversary of the Easton Farmer’s Market.

Heritage Day will take place Sunday, July 8, and will include a reading of the Declaration of Independence, Revolutionary War reenactments, food, entertainment, and much more. A full preview of Heritage Day can be read here.

The Easton Farmer’s Market, located on Centre Square, will celebrate being the longest-running outdoor market in the country since 1752 with a birthday celebration Saturday, July 7. The market will be open from 8 a.m. – 1 p.m. and events will include balloons and face paining for children and free birthday cupcakes handed out to the first 255 visitors. There will also be talks given by Penn State Master Gardeners at 11 a.m. “Sharpening our Garden Tools Clinic,” 11:30 a.m. “Solar Cooking Demonstration” with warm apple crisp, and noon “Masonry Preservation and Restoration.” For more information, call (610) 330-9942.
