Watch the video: “Darfur: the World’s Worst Humanitarian Crisis”

Nicholas Kristof, renowned author, Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist, and columnist for The New York Times, discussed the ongoing genocide in Darfur in a public lecture on campus Nov. 8 sponsored by the Policy Studies program.

To show the Lafayette community’s condemnation of the genocide and to raise awareness of the crisis, the Policy Studies Program led the production of “Darfur: the World’s Worst Humanitarian Crisis,” a video written by Christopher Haight ‘09. Voices and images of dozens of students, faculty, and trustees make one powerful message.

Last November, the Board of Trustees issued a resolution stating that Lafayette will develop an educational program to heighten awareness regarding the abhorrent violations of human rights committed by the Sudanese government within the Darfur region. Policy Studies is taking the lead in implementing the educational program with events planned throughout the school year.
