The Skip Wilkins Quintet will perform at the Williams Center Oct. 2

Skip Wilkins, associate professor of music, released his latest CD, The Paint-Peeler, Aug. 1 on Dreambox Media.

The album was captured in a live-remote recording on the stage of the Williams Center for the Arts during the summer of 2007. It contains nine of his new, original jazz compositions and features his working ensemble, the Skip Wilkins Quintet.

Wilkins will talk about his new recording and his 17–day summer performance tour throughout the Czech Republic and Berlin in a brownbag conversation 12:10 p.m. Monday, Sept. 29, in the Williams Center room 123. The Skip Wilkins Quintet will perform at the Williams Center at 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 2.

The Paint-Peeler is the group’s third CD and Wilkins’ fourth release on Dreambox Media in the last two years. Previous releases were Skip Wilkins Quintet: Volume I and Volume II and Skip Wilkins Solo – Live at Lafayette.
