Speedy Delivery won Feel Good Film Festival’s Audience Choice Award

Speedy Delivery by Paul Germain ’04 was screened on the Feel Good Film Festival’s closing night at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood after receiving the event’s Audience Choice Award. Germain also received a $1,000 cash prize.

The documentary is scheduled to air on PBS regionally this fall. It made its premiere in March during Lafayette’s Doc Week: A Celebration of Documentary Film, which featured four days of film screenings, presentations, and discussions with filmmakers, including Germain.

Completed in 2007, the film pays homage to David Newell, who has helped educate children across America for nearly 40 years as Mr. McFeely, the Speedy Delivery man on Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and as public relations director for Family Communications Inc., the show’s parent company.

An English and art graduate, Germain made his first documentary in Lafayette’s Documentary Film course. He earned a master’s in arts management and another in entertainment industry management at Carnegie Mellon.
