Lafayette Day in the Square features music, games, and food

Students, faculty, and staff are invited to explore downtown Easton Saturday, Sept. 20 for Lafayette Day in the Square.

Running from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m., the day will feature free food, music, and a host of other unique and delicious promotions to welcome students to the area. There will be a Spot the Leopard Contest and Lafayette specials at shops, galleries, and restaurants throughout town.
Students and staff should show their Lafayette ID at the registration tent to receive a Lafayette Day bracelet, which allows access to all the promotions and food. Trolley transportation will be provided from the Williams Center of the Arts and Simon Parking Deck to Centre Square throughout the day.

Lafayette Day in the Square schedule:

11 a.m. – 1 p.m.: Professional Hooper (learn to hula hoop)
11 a.m.: Watermelon Shot-Put Competition
11:30 a.m.: Cake Walk
Noon: Hot Pepper Eating Contest
Noon – 1 p.m.: Quintessence, Soulfege & Cadence
Noon – 2 p.m.: Caricaturist
1 p.m. – 3 p.m.: Steel Drum Band
All Day: Bungee Run, Money Machine, Quoits
The event also coincides with Easton’s Riverside Festival of the Arts in Riverside Park, a two-day celebration of the arts that includes poetry readings, live performances, and arts and craft displays.
