The wall art celebrates the hospital being named one of the 50 best in the nation

Amanda Smith ’10 (Henderson, Nev.) and Lew Minter, director of the art department’s media lab, have designed, constructed, and hung a wall installation for Easton Hospital.

Minter was commissioned to put together the installation in celebration of Easton Hospital being named one of America’s 50 Best Hospitals for 2009 by HealthGrades, a hospital rating company based in Golden, Colo.

The project consists of five panels representing the hospital’s Five Pillars of Excellence. Smith, a double major in economics & business and art, worked on the project as an EXCEL scholar. She plans on pursuing a career in advertising and believes the creative and business aspects of the work will help her in the future. Smith also is a member of the women’s varsity basketball team.
