He set up game-winning field goal today with third fumble recovery in past four games

Blake Costanzo ’06, a special teams standout for the Cleveland Browns in the National Football League, has recovered three fumbles in the past four games, all on kickoff and punt returns. He leads the NFL in defensive fumble recoveries. Today his recovery in the fourth quarter set up the winning field goal against his former team, the Buffalo Bills. Last year, Constanzo led the Bills in special teams tackles.

The Browns fan blog Dawgs by Nature remarks, “I think Blake Costanzo is going to set a special teams record or something with the amount of fumbles he is recovering. When most players dive at a loose football, the ball bounces elsewhere. When Costanzo dives at it, it’s like the ball gravitates right to him. Does he have some secret type of magnetic attraction device planted?”

Costanzo majored in anthropology and sociology at Lafayette.
