Faculty will host interdisciplinary discussions Jan. 29 and Feb. 5

Faclty from numerous disciplines will host two interdisciplinary brown bag discussions on Haiti, the first will set the historical and scientific stage for the current crisis and the second will consider issues of relief and recovery. The sessions will be noon Friday, Jan. 29 and Feb. 5 in room 104 of Kirby Hall of Civil Rights. Lunch will be provided.

The session on Jan. 29 will include Larry Malinconico, associate professor of geology and environmental geosciences; Rebekah E. Pite, assistant professor of history; and John McCartney, professor of government and law.

The second session features Steve Lammers Helen H.P. Manson Professor Emeritus of the English Bible; Bonnie Winfield, director of the Landis Community Outreach Center; Stephen Kurtz, associate professor of civil and environmental engineering; and David Stifel, assistant professor of economics.

The events are sponsored by the Offices of the President and the Dean of the College, the Landis Community Outreach Center, the Division of Engineering, the Department of Economics, and the Department of Government & Law.
