Judson C. “Jud” Linville ’79, a member of the Lafayette College Board of Trustees, became chief executive officer of Citi Cards this month.

Linville, of Princeton, N.J., will run Citi’s North America branded cards business. He will be a member of the executive committee and the global consumer banking council, and will head the global cards council for the firm.

Linville is the former president and chief executive officer of U.S. Consumer Services, American Express.

During his 20 years at American Express, Linville led a variety of business segments and held responsibility for all U.S. card member, small business, and merchant customer services. Most recently, he oversaw the Consumer Card Group, Consumer Travel Network, Service Delivery Network, and both American Express Interactive and Prepaid Services Group on a worldwide basis.

Linville serves on the Board of Visitors for Fuqua School of Business, Duke University, and on the board of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts. He holds a doctorate in psychology from Hahnemann Medical College. He is married to Cynthia Oaks Linville ’80, daughter of Bill Oaks ’51. They are the parents of Cameron Linville ’13.
