Off The Wall: Pushing Printmaking’s Boundaries, an exhibit aimed at personifying the creative quest to challenge the limits of traditional printmaking, runs through Dec. 18 at the Grossman Gallery. The exhibit features exciting work by emerging artists, as well as nationally and internationally known artists recognized for their innovative approaches to articulating their unique visions.
Off the Wall incorporates 3-D elements. Many pieces extend out from the wall up to 10 or more inches, while others unfold as much as 30-feet long. The works are from Lafayette’s Experimental Printmaking Institute’s archives and artists affiliated with EPI.
A reception for the exhibit will be held from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 7. At 4 p.m., sculptor Sam Gilliam and artist Jase Clark will talk about non-traditional and innovative printmaking.
The Grossman Gallery is located in the Williams Visual Arts Building, 243 North Third Street. Gallery hours are Tuesday-Friday 1-5 p.m., Saturday from noon-5 p.m., and by appointment.
