Farinon College Center is a vibrant hub of activity on campus. It has a student restaurant and a snack bar; hosts numerous events and activities including dance parties, regional and national conferences, comedy performances, films, and speakers; and is a place for students to just hang out.

A number of student organizations maintain offices in the building, such as Student Government, International Students Association, the Inter-fraternity and Panhellenic councils, Lafayette Activities Forum, Association of Black Collegians, Questioning Established Sexual Taboos (QuEST), and the Melange yearbook.

Farinon is also home to the Office of Residence Life, the Office of Student Life Programs, Dining Services, Landis Community Outreach Center, the Post Office, Limburg Theater, and the College Store.
