Aida is a Grammy and Tony award-winning musical with music by Elton John and lyrics by Tim Rice. This electrifying piece is a contemporary musical take on the classic tale of forbidden love. As love blossoms between Radames, the captain of the Egyptian army, and Aida, the kidnapped princess of Nubia, the young lovers are forced to face death or be apart forever. With a pop-rock heavy score, Aida is a crowd-pleasing spectacle which has invigorated audiences since its first showings.

All aspects of the production, from set design to fundraising to choreography, are completely run by students. The group is advised by Jessica Goldblat, assistant director of admissions.

Each year, the Marquis Players raise more than $5,000 for charities including the Dan O’Neil Memorial Fund, Third Street Alliance, Safe Harbor, Habitat for Humanity, Turning Point, Lehigh Valley Food Bank, and Lafayette’s Meals for the Homeless program.
