Professor Ed Gamber

Ed Gamber, professor and head of economics, sat down with Channel 69 News at Sunrise to analyze the recent steep drop in the stock market.

Gamber’s research and teaching focus on macroeconomics, monetary policy, and forecasting. He is coauthor the Macroeconomics textbook (2002) and serves as coeditor of the Eastern Economic Journal.  He previously served on the Wall Street Journal Educational Advisory Board, advising publisher Dow Jones Inc. on programs to encourage professors to use the newspaper in classroom teaching. He was also principal analyst in the Macro Analysis Division of the Congressional Budget Office from 1996-98.

Gamber frequently includes economics majors in his research and mentors them in their original research. He received a National Science Foundation grant to establish a computer laboratory in quantitative economics and Lafayette’s Lindback Distinguished Teaching Award.
