Morgan West ’13 (Huntington Beach, Calif.), a neuroscience major with a minor in health care and society, is traveling to Switzerland, India, China, and South Africa this semester for a comparative health care study.  In addition to her studies, highlights of her time in Basel, Switzerland, include “an amazing public transport system, fantastic wursts, and a copious number of museums (40 in this one tiny town!). Also, when the weather is nice the whole town jumps in the Rhine and goes for a float!”

Since arriving in India, West has taken in the annual harvest festival of Onam, a strike against petrol prices, a traditional dance/theater performance, and helped bathe an elephant. She’s begun a case study on the labor and delivery process in Trivadrum.

West is one of seven students sharing her experiences this semester on Voices, Lafayette’s student blogging website.

John Paul Bisciotti ’14 (Media, Pa.) is a mechanical engineering major with a minor in economics. He’s written about working for the Office of Admissions as a student ambassador, performing music with his jam band, the New Mechanics, and with Carlos Barata ’14, and playing at the first Ultimate Frisbee tournament of the semester.

Devon Thorsell ’13 (Lake Forest Park, Wash.) is an international affairs major studying in Tanzania this semester through a program focusing on wildlife conservation and political ecology. She’s described traveling to and within Tanzania, orientation in the middle of the African savannah, and living with a Tanzanian family without the comforts of electricity or running water.

Ryan Shroff ’13 is a psychology major with a minor in healthcare and society from Mumbai, India. He’s shared his thoughts about adjusting to life the United States, his involvement in Alternative School Break Club, taking the GRE’s, the Career Fair, and what he’d like to do after graduating.

Michael Viteritto ’13 (North Caldwell, N.J.) is an English major with a minor in theater studying in Lafayette’s faculty-led program in London this semester. He’s introduced himself — his interests include making music, writing poems and short stories, and building models – and the three different majors he declared before switching to English.

Brandi Porter ’13 (Olney, Md.), is a theater major with a music minor who will be training in acting, singing, and dance at the Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts in London this school year. She’s written about her adventures in getting a visa.

Javauhn Caines ’12 is an engineering studies major from the Bronx, N.Y. He’s involved in Brothers of Lafayette, Association of Black Collegians, Hispanic Society of Lafayette, and the Arts Society. He also is head manager of the men’s basketball team and an intramural supervisor. He introduced himself in his first blog post, which covered the Posse program, working as an intramural supervisor, and a stressful week.
