Annette Diorio Will Become Senior Operations Manager in Finance and Operations

Celestino Limas, vice president of campus life and and senior diversity officer, and Mitch Wein, treasurer and vice president for finance and operations, sent the following email to the campus community today:

We are writing to inform you that Annette Diorio, who has served as Dean of Students since June 2010 and has been a major force in the Division of Campus Life since 2000, has announced that she will depart from that position effective at the end of the current semester.  She will transition to the position of Senior Operations Manager in the division of Finance and Operations.

Reporting to Bruce Ferretti, Director of Plant Operations, Annette will oversee the College’s Grounds and Custodial departments and its scheduling and event-support functions.  In addition, she will manage newly aggregated functions related to transportation, shuttles, and emergency preparedness and report to Mitch Wein for these responsibilities.

We are extremely grateful to Annette for her extraordinary service and contributions to Lafayette and pleased that she will now manage these key operating activities and lead the dedicated teams in the division of Finance and Operations that provide crucial support for the campus.  She will serve as a member of the College’s Operating Committee with Bruce Ferretti; Hugh Harris, Director of Public Safety; Paul Zimmerman, Associate Vice President and Controller; John O’Keefe, Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services; Rosie Bader, Associate Treasurer; Kari Fazio, Director of Finance and Business Operations; and Mary Wilford-Hunt, Director of Facilities Planning and Construction, along with Mitch Wein who serves as Chair of the Committee.

A national search for a dean of students, chaired by Celestino Limas, will commence immediately, with the goal being a start date of July 1, 2012, for the successor.  During the search, Jodie Frey, Associate Dean of Students and Director of Recreation Services, will serve as Dean of Students on an interim basis.  Annette will split her time between Campus Life and Finance and Operations during the spring semester to ensure a smooth transition and support Jodie.
