Comprised of 20 paintings, the show runs until Saturday, Nov. 2, at the gallery, located across from the Whitney Museum of American Art on Madison Avenue in Manhattan.
Mattison describes Scott’s works as “remarkable for their complexity and energy as well as the sensuality of their color.” Mattison is the author of Robert Motherwell: The Formative Years (1987), Grace Hartigan: A Painter’s World (1990), Arshille Gorky: Works, Writings (2010), and Robert Rauschenberg: Breaking Boundaries (Yale University Press, 2003).
