Lafayette’s Forensics Society placed second in the Lincoln Douglas debate portion of the National Forensics Association’s National Tournament April 16-20 at Ohio University.

Joe Rothschild ’16 finished second in the nation and Ryan Monahan ’15 made it to the final four.

Forensics Society members Sharon Chen ’15 and Aaron Walker ’18 took home state championships in rhetorical criticism and impromptu speaking, respectively, during the Pennsylvania Forensic Association’s annual tournament in February at Penn State University.

The College has excelled on the national level, also placing second in debate in 2013. In 2009, the team was the national champion in Division III speech, and in 2010, the team took second place in both debate and Division III speech.
