The Bring the Best logo with figures on money raisedThe Lafayette community rallied together during Founders’ Week to raise $1.4 million in 39 hours to support the President’s Challenge for Financial Aid. Gifts from 1,411 alumni, parents, faculty, staff, and students provided enough to bring four students to Lafayette for four years.

Leading up to the challenge, the campus was bustling with Founders’ Week activities including the President’s Ball and Senior Sips, a trivia contest, Wear Maroon Day, an oversized puzzle of the President’s Challenge logo, and more. In addition, 674 alumni celebrated Lafayette’s founding at 40 events across the U.S. and internationally during Wine 3/9 events.

Support for financial aid remains integral to moving the College toward the ability to admit the most qualified students regardless of their ability to pay—an attribute shared by most of the nation’s top colleges.

Faculty and staff helped build enthusiasm by accepting President Alison Byerly’s challenge to compete in lip sync videos. The president herself lip synced “Guns and Ships” from Hamilton while dressed as the Marquis de Lafayette. Learn more and watch a thank-you video at bringthebest.lafayette.edu.
