Lauren MyersLauren Myers, associate professor of psychology, shares her expertise in a video for CBC’s “The Nature of Things” about the impact of screen time on young children.

Myers runs Lafayette Kids Lab, where she conducts child development research on children’s learning from video-chat interactions with people. She is also part of the Grandparenting in the Digital Age project, in which Myers and colleagues are researching how infants make and maintain online relationships with grandparents.

Her research is especially relevant during the COVID-19 pandemic, as many families practicing social distancing are relying on video technology to keep in touch.
