Prof. John Kincaid speaks to WFMZ-TV about voters from both parties going independent
John Kincaid, Robert B. and Helen S. Meyner Professor of Government and Public Service, spoke to WFMZ-TV in response to information from the Pennsylvania Department of State that says nearly twice as many Republicans changed their party affiliation in the first few months of the year than Democrats.
Kincaid says a significant number of those people are part of a decades-long trend of voters from both parties going independent.
“Because they don’t feel fully comfortable with either party since both of them have become more extreme,” Kincaid said.
