WFMZ-TV and LehighValleyLive interviewed Joshua Sanborn, professor of history and chair of Russian and Eastern European studies, about the crisis in Ukraine this week.

Sanborn, who has spent extensive time in Ukraine and Russia to conduct research, teaches a variety of courses on the history of Russia and Eastern Europe. He is the author of Imperial Apocalypse: The Great War and the Destruction of the Russian EmpireDrafting the Russian Nation: Military Conscription, Total War, and Mass Politics, 1905-1925, and the co-author (with Annette Timm) of Gender, Sex, and the Shaping of Modern Europe, 3rd revised and expanded edition.
