Monday’s announcement that Lafayette College will host the 2024 vice presidential debate received widespread media attention regionally and nationally.

The Commission on Presidential Debates announced that Lafayette College has been selected to host the 2024 vice presidential debate on Wednesday, Sept. 25, the first time the College has been chosen as the site for this tradition in American politics. The debate will be held in Kirby Sports Center. Additional details, including the format and moderators, will be announced in 2024 by the Commission on Presidential Debates, the nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that has sponsored all general election presidential and vice presidential debates since 1988.

Many national media outlets carried the news, including the New York Times, CBS News, and the Associated Press. CBS News Philadelphia, NBC10 Philadelphia, and LehighValleyLive.com were among the regional press that reported on the announcement.
