The Lafayette community is proud to recognize the accomplishments of six faculty members who have been promoted from associate professor to professor, effective the start of the fall semester.

  • Michael Nees, professor of psychology
  • Seo-Hyun Park, professor of government and law
  • Megan Rothenberger ’02, professor of environmental science and studies and chair of the programs in environmental science and studies
  • Joshua Smith, professor of mechanical engineering
  • David Sunderlin, John H. Markle Professor, geology
  • Ge (Frank) Xia, professor of computer science

“We are proud of the teaching, scholarship and professional accomplishments of Lafayette faculty at every stage of their careers, and the promotion of these six colleagues to the rank of professor offers a special opportunity to recognize their many achievements,” says Provost Laura McGrane. “Just as their mentorship and teaching have shaped so many Lafayette students, it is wonderful to see that our students have been crucial to their successes.”
