What I study and why: I study how race and other social biases influence our recognition and perceptions of other people. For example, if you’ve ever had difficulty distinguishing between people of a different race than you, I investigate why that difficulty occurs and how recognition can be improved. I study this because I want to help improve interpersonal dynamics between people of various backgrounds. 

This fall I am teaching: Social Psychology I and Quantitative Methods in Psychology

What students can expect from me: Students can expect transparency from me. I want them to see the value of what they are learning and engaging in, so I strive to convey the “why” behind everything we do.

Getting to know me: I love to bake and cook—I find it exciting to learn different techniques and try new dishes!
