What I study and why: Broadly speaking, my research interests include ESG, corporate finance, corporate governance, household finance, and labor economics. A general approach to my research is building upon existing economic theory and empirical research to shed new insights on crucial issues that can potentially guide policymaking.

This fall, I am teaching: Corporate Finance

What students can expect from me: My goal as a professor is to give all students the tools needed for success, regardless of economic status, ethnicity, or cultural background. As a first-generation college student myself, education and teaching have always been paramount to me. Numerous teachers and advisers have given me great opportunities to thrive, and I cannot be more grateful to take the role and responsibilities of an educator. I am particularly passionate about providing my students with a meaningful and effective learning process through which they can contextualize their life experiences.

Getting to know me: I hold one bachelor’s degree and three advanced degrees, all in different disciplines. I started with a B.A. in English, then obtained an M.S. in management science, an M.S. in business analytics, and a Ph.D. in finance. I used to play piano and drums in my spare time. Now I am a snowboarder, a hiker, and a traveler.
