Throughout Lafayette College’s 191st Commencement ceremony on Sat., May 23, more than 600 graduates were consistently reminded of one thing as they proceeded across the stage for their degrees: their future is theirs for the taking.

During the ceremony, honorary degrees were presented to Harvard professor and author Arthur C. Brooks and posthumously to American visual artist Audrey Flack, whose storied career ultimately led to a commission for the College’s Bicentennial.

Brooks, a university professor, bestselling author, and one of the world’s leading experts on happiness, delivered the keynote addressPepper Prize recipient Dexter Kennedy ’26 also gave an address to his fellow students.
