About Darlyne Bailey '74

A first generation college student, Darlyne Bailey was among the first women to attend Lafayette College. Bailey is professor and dean emeritus of Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research, director and founder of the Social Justice Initiative, and special assistant to the President for Community Partnerships at Bryn Mawr College, Pa.

+ Pepper Prize Finalists: The George Wharton Pepper Prize, awarded annually to the senior “who most nearly represents the Lafayette ideal,” was established in 1923 by George Wharton Pepper H’22, a United States Senator from Pennsylvania, an attorney, and a founding member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Ten finalists are identified each spring from the graduating class.

Prestigious Scholarship/Fellowship awards: These awards are highly competitive and prestigious. Students are subjected to rigorous selection criteria and compete against candidates from across the US. These scholarships include opportunities to study abroad, finance their current or postgraduate.
