Recipe for teriyaki-glazed burgers with avocado, and sriracha aioli.
Economics and psychology major Drew Friedman ’16 is appearing on the Food Network’s “Chopped” on March 15. Among the dishes he likes to cook, he often tries these burger. Below is his recipe:
THE BURGERS
- 1/4 cup of ginger grated
- 2 cloves of garlic peeled and smashed
- 1 pound ground beef 90% sirloin 10% fat
- 1/4 cup of soy sauce
- 1/4 cup of teriyaki sauce
- 1/4 cup of mirin (rice wine vinegar)
- 2 diced red onions
- 1/2 bunch of parsley finely chopped
- Sea salt, and fresh ground pepper
- Sesame seeds
- Cumin
- 1/4 a bunch of cilantro
- 1/2 a lemon juiced
- Fresh mozzarella diced (stuff the burger with)
- 2 avocados (put on top of the burger)
SRIRACHA AIOLI SPREAD
- 1/2 lemon squeezed
- Salt and pepper
- 1/4 cup of sriracha
- Two teaspoons of honey
- Pinch of paprika
- Pinch of Cajun seasoning
- Pinch of garlic powder
- Pinch of Old Bay
- 1/2 cup of mayo
- Cook to your enjoyment and serve on potato buns
