Guided walking tour encourages Lafayette students and Easton natives to explore what downtown has to offer

On Friday, Sept. 28 at 6 p.m., there will be a guided walking tour of downtown Easton. Sponsored by the Family YMCA of Easton, Phillipsburg & Vicinity, the walk presents an opportunity for exercise as well as a chance to explore the culture of downtown Easton.

Led by Kim Kmetz, Easton Main Street Manger, the tour occurs as part of America On the Move Week, during which the YMCA encourages people to incorporate healthier living practices into their daily routines.

The tour will begin 6 p.m. on the east side of North Third Street between Third Street Alliance and the PNC Bank. It will explore the history and architecture in downtown Easton. The tour also provides the opportunity to discover downtown shops and restaurants, with more than 25 merchants remaining open until 8 p.m.

A jazz performance in Centre Square will also feature Patrick Poladian on keyboard, Frank Belic on guitar, and vocalist Michele Bautier from 7-9 p.m.

For more information, contact Sharon O’Hara Smith, YMCA Wellness Director, at 610-258-6158 ext. 17 or email.
