Over the past few months, Nigerian painter Ibiyinka Alao has taught students at Lafayette and area schools about the art of Nigeria and his art-making process. Alao, a Lafayette visiting artist and the honorary Art Ambassador of Nigeria, has worked hands-on with students through a series of workshops.

As part of a residency sponsored by the College’s art department and Community-Based Teaching Program, Alao presented the exhibit One Night of Grace and a lecture on his work in the Williams Visual Arts Building.
