Lafayette researchers are quoted by Lehigh Valley Live about invasive pest's population growth
Lehigh Valley Live reported on the spotted lanternfly research of Daniel Strömbom, assistant professor of biology, and student researcher Swati Pandey ’23, a biology major from Kathmandu, Nepal.
Using mathematical modeling, Strömbom and Pandey found each of the non-native, invasive insects will produce an average of five to six offspring over the coming year. Their findings were recently published in the journal Mathematical Biosciences.
