For the Class of 2022, the college experience was split into two halves by COVID-19: one spent in the classroom, the other in virtual instruction. Yet, these scholars didn’t just surmount the challenge of coping with an unprecedented pandemic while juggling academic responsibilities—which made their return to campus all the sweeter. They also distinguished themselves as a generation unafraid to stand for its convictions and determined to make the world a better place.

Another remarkable feat achieved by this year’s graduates: Nine Lafayette seniors were recognized as valedictorians during the Commencement ceremony for the Class of 2022 on May 21, attaining the consummate level of academic achievement with 4.0 GPAs and making outstanding contributions to the Lafayette community.

As they prepare to take on the world, each valedictorian took time to record their thoughts about their journeys at the College, their hopes for the future, and their wishes for current and future Lafayette grads.
