Printmaking students helped raise money for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria

Printmaking students helped raise money for earthquake victims in Turkey and Syria.

WMFZ-Channel 69 News on March 23 featured Lafayette printmaking students who designed, printed and sold T-shirts and posters to raise money for victims of the recent earthquake that devastated areas of Turkey and Syria.

Students of Pedro Barbeito, assistant professor of art and the Experimental Printmaking Institute director, each designed a T-shirt, and the class voted on the top four designs (two for Turkey, two for Syria). Their T-shirts and posters were sold on March 24 at Farinon College Center. The Lehigh Valley news outlet also referenced how Barbeito’s students completed a similar project last year to raise money for Ukraine.
