Resilience was a common theme heard at Lafayette College’s 189th Commencement ceremony Sun., May 19, as nearly 600 graduates crossed the stage to receive their diplomas.

During the ceremony, honorary degrees were presented to esteemed alumna Amy Herman ’88, Pennsylvania Rep. Robert Freeman, and NYU President Emeritus John Sexton.

Herman—founder and president of The Art of Perception Inc., a New York-based organization that conducts professional development courses for leaders around the world, including at NATO, the French National Police, and Doctors Without Borders—delivered the keynote address. Pepper Prize winner Remy Oktay ’24 also gave an address to his fellow graduates.
