“Site Lines,” artwork by Oklahoma sculptor Rachel Hayes, was installed on the Karl Stirner Arts Trail this week by Jim Toia, the art department’s director of community-based teaching, and the artist and her family. Mercantile Home and Easton’s Department of Public Works provided significant assistance. The installation consists of 1,000 yards of construction mesh and nylon flag fabric. The sculpture is expected to inhabit the trail for about year, and when the work is removed, the fabric will be repurposed into bags for residents of Easton’s area shelters.
